Meet Our Instructors

Tyler Brewer

Tyler Brewer is the owner and CEO of Amber Waves Diving Company.  Tyler has had nearly 40 years working in Public Safety.  In addition to being trained to train Instructors in Emergency First Response he also teaches American Heart Association, American Safety and Health Institute and the National Safety Council first aid courses.  He is  Master Scuba Diving Trainer and and has taught college level courses in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, and Security at several colleges.

 

Tim Follis

Tim has also been a Pulic Safety professional for over 20 years.  Tim has held credentials as an EMT, and has extensive teaching/training background in various 'rescue' services.   Tim is also one of our EFR instructors, but is also trained to teach American Heart Association and American Safety and Health Institute courses.

 

Chris Hulett

Chris Hulett is an EFR instructor Trainer and a SCUBA  Instructor Development Course staff member with the Amber Waves Dive family. His love for life and adventure translates to his love for diving. Chris will keep you laughing and smiling so make sure you keep your regulator in your mouth. He is also FULL SPEED ahead so make sure you eat your Cheerios!

Blaine Garrett

Blaine is a PADI Open Water Dive Instructor and and is certified to teach BLS and HeartSaver courses through the American Heart Association. 

Jennifer Hull

Jennifer is a PADI Open Water Instructor and an American Heart Association BLS Advanced First Aid Instructor.  By day she is a fifth grade teacher for USD 259 and that experience has translated well to teaching SCUBA.  She is a wonderful caring young lady who focuses on delighting her students and the staff at Amber Waves Diving.

Colleen Beckley

Colleen Beckley teaches BLS and HeartSaver courses for the American Heart Association and Adult and Pediatric Basic First Aid/CPR/AED for the American Safety and Health Institute.  Her greatest attribute is that of being a wonderful wife and mother.

Dan Wegner

Dan Wegner is an EFR Instructor and he is a Division Chief on the Sedgwick County Fire Department assigned to Fire Prevention and Investigations. He specializes in teaching technical rescue skills to firefighters.

Michael Jernigan

Mike is a PADI Open Water Instructor, holds technical dive certifications in PADI Tec 50, Side-Mount and Cavern and of course teaches BLS and HeartSaver courses for the American Heart Association.  By day, he is an IT manager at Koch Engineering.  His other interests include sky diving and he holds a black belt in Kung Fu. 

Steve Atkinson

Steve Atkinson is a PADI Divemaster and an Emergency First Response (CPR and First Aid) Instructor.  Steve is a Captain with the Sedgwick County Fire Department and has real world expiriences to help you best understand what you may encounter and how best to handle Emergency First Response situations.
